10mm Bullets for Reloading
This page features our 10mm bullets that are used to reload. If you are looking for loaded rounds that are ready to shoot, please head to our 10mm ammo page.
The 10mm is kind of the “redo” of pistol cartridges. Its handgun and recoil were both deemed too heavy by many law enforcement officers, so the 40 S&W was created to take the 10mm’s place. But you personally don’t mind a little more recoil when it goes along with the 10mm’s immense power.
Many people have noted that quality matters even more than usual when it comes to the 10mm. That plus its high price tag encourages a lot of shooters to reload the massive round. The 10mm’s parent case is obscure by now – production of the 30 Remington pretty much ceased by the late 1980s. Fortunately new 10mm brass is popular enough, as are the large pistol primers and conventional powders you need to reload it.
10mm bullets for reloading are typically jacketed and range in weight from 135 to 200 grains. JHPs and XTPs will make fine self-defense loads, and you can even make your own hunting cartridges. Several states allow hunters to take whitetail with 10mm. Just be certain to follow the 37,500 psi pressure limit and you can do whatever you like with your .400 diameter bullets.

Berry’s 40 Cal Bullets - 180 Grain Hybrid HP – 1000 Count
$134.85Cost Per Bullet 12¢ per bullet Product Type Bullets Bullet Weight 180 Grain Bullet Caliber 10mm, 40 S&W Quantity 1000 Bullet Type Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Manufacturer Berry's Manufacturer SKU 00725 This is not loaded ammunition. Do not order these component bullets if you don’t have the tools and the knowhow to make your own ammo!
The most reliable ammo is that which you design and manufacture with your own two hands. If you want to keep great self-defense loads in your 10mm or 40 S&W firearm’s magazine, Berry’s provides the solution!
This 0.401” diameter 180 grain projectile is Berry’s own Hybrid Hollow Point. The bullet’s swaged lead core was submerged in an electrically charged chemical bath to create an extremely concentric and completely bonded copper jacket. The bullet was then restruck to ensure it is precisely 0.598" in overall length, and also to create its notched nose cavity. In addition to exceptional weight retention that assures penetration depth of 11” to 13”, the Hybrid Hollow Point delivers reliably wide and rapid expansion.
If you use these bullets to load 40 S&W, Berry’s advises a muzzle velocity between 975 and 1,075 fps. Core separation and accuracy issues can result if you exceed that threshold. Load data for Superior Plated Bullets are available in any manual or on any propellant company’s site. -

Hornady .400 Diameter Bullets - 200 Grain XTP – 100 Count
$28.85- Buy 5 at $25.85 /each and save
Cost Per Bullet 25.8¢ to 28.8¢ per bullet Product Type Bullets Bullet Weight 200 Grain Bullet Caliber 10mm, 40 S&W Quantity 100 Bullet Type XTP Manufacturer Hornady Manufacturer SKU 40060 This is not loaded ammunition. You cannot fire these components bullets right out of the box. You have to load them first, just like you have to cook a Thanksgiving turkey before you can eat it.
Are you loading your own 40 S&W self-defense loads? Are you loading your own 10mm hunting loads? Or are you just trying to create the most accurate .40 cal cartridges possible? It all starts with the Hornady eXtreme Terminal Performance.
When you load these 0.400” diameter 200 grain bullets, you get to appreciate just how many features Hornady is able to pack into a single drawn gilding metal jacket. The XTP’s protective jacket doesn’t let its swaged lead core touch the feed ramp, and it also keeps the nose cavity’s rim from deforming during initial impact. That preserves the jacketed hollow point’s ability to produce wide terminal expansion. The XTP’s jacket is notched, and it becomes increasingly thinner the closer it gets to the rim – two features which also promote more reliable expansion. Its core uniformity and jacket concentricity also give the XTP awesome accuracy. You will not be misusing these bullets if you only load them in match rounds!
Hornady is one of America’s most respected bullet manufacturers. Uniform in weight and dimensions, their XTP represents the old Nebraskan company’s very best work! -
