9mm Bullets

9x19 Bullets for Reloading

This page is full of products that contain only the bullet portion of ammunition. It's meant for shooters who reload their own ammo. If you wanted rounds ready to fire, please visit our 9mm ammo page here.

The 9mm is where a lot of handloaders start out, if only because the 9mm is in such high demand as America’s favorite pistol cartridge.

As with factory loads, 9mm bullets for reloading usually weigh 115, 124, or 147 grains. The heaviest bullets are typically loaded to subsonic muzzle velocities, while the lightest ones can perform in excess of 1,200 fps. (Extremely lightweight 88 grain bullets can easily be loaded to crack 1,500 fps.) FMJs are of course the target shooter’s go-to, but an abundance of .355 diameter JHP bullets are also available to load self-defense cartridges.

9mm Luger bullets move at relatively high velocities, and slow burning powder achieves that by exerting continually rising pressure against the bullet in the barrel. It is also possible to use fast burning powder to make a light load. Just so long as you stay under SAAMI’s max pressure of 35,000 psi, you can experiment a little with powders to get a round you really like.

Take care that chamber designs can vary significantly across different 9mm handguns. It may take some trial and error to determine the exact overall length your particular handgun prefers.

    Good value

Good value for casual shooting at reasonable velocities. Do not over crimp or the bullets may lose jacket pieces when fired.

Great bullets, but I need primers!

I have been reloading for almost 50 years, and it's one of my very few guilty pleasures! These bullets work great! The only thing I wish is that you guys had some dang primers, as I'm out! Anyway, these are great bullets!

    Nice bullets

Found these easy to load, very consistent weight. Light to mid-range had best accuracy out of my Glock. 1911 liked juicier loads.

Great Bullets at a Low Price

Reloaded these for general purpose range use, competition, and defensive handgun drills. They are excellent for the price, haven't had any issues at all. Clean to handle being fully plated. Using Hodgdon Titegroup, exact load data was on hodgdon's site. Will order again!

This is not loaded ammunition. This is a box of component bullets, and as such is only of use to handloaders.

Military Ballistic Industries (MBI) was founded by a machine gun enthusiast as a way of subsidizing his favorite (and admittedly expensive) hobby. Today the American company produces several types of budget-friendly reloaded ammunition, but they also sell their unloaded bullets as handloading components. Once this box of one thousand 0.356” diameter component bullets has entered your possession, you’ll be able to subsidize your own passion for firing 9mm handguns until the cows come home.

These are the basic bullets you need for your everyday range loads. Middleweight at 124 grains; non-expanding full metal jacket design; zero steel that could have attracted a magnet, and thus suitable for firing at all commercial ranges. Just add brass, primers and propellant, and presto – great target loads of your own design and creation.

This box of bullets weighs 18 lbs. Carry it around the block a few times if you’re trying to drop a few pounds before your next title match.

    123 grain, .355.

I too have measured this with mic and calipers and they size out at .355. Great bullets for 9mm and very nice. I weighed about 20 and I get 123 grain, again, not a problem unless you are setting up for a match.

This is not loaded ammunition. You can’t fire these bullets right out of the box. You need to pair them up with cases, primers and propellant first.

But you, a handloader, already knew that. These are Berry’s Superior Plated Bullets: perfect for 9mm at 0.356” in diameter, and specifically suited for target practice thanks to their light 115 grain weights and plated flat point design.

Target bullets rarely feature bonded jackets, but that’s just the way Berry’s makes them. Each projectile features a uniformly distributed swaged lead core and flawlessly concentric electrochemically plated jacket. Ignition gasses can’t scorch lead off the bullet’s encapsulated lead core, which means cleaner lungs and a cleaner barrel for you. The bullet’s flat nose profile isn’t on par with a wadcutter, although it still successfully punches out a clear, legible hole through a paper target.

Berry’s put each of these bullets to the caliper to ensure they are uniform in diameter and 0.478" OAL. You’re warned against loading this one to a muzzle velocity higher than 1,250 fps. Otherwise you can detach the core from the jacket and get poor accuracy.

This is not loaded ammunition. Unless it’s with a slingshot, you cannot fire these component bullets right out of the box. You’ve got to load them with brass, powder and primers first!

Sorry for the sternly worded warning. We just want to make certain these valuable 9mm component bullets go where they belong: to handloaders, who can use them to create target loads which perform very similarly to their preferred 147 grain self-defense ammo.

This 0.356” diameter projectile is a traditional FMJ. It is jacketed, not plated, and accordingly ought to play nice with a ported barrel or compensator. Its lead core’s base will be fully exposed to propellant gas, however, so do expect fouling of the barrel/suppressor.

Military Ballistics Industries manufactures these steel-free, nonmagnetic bullets brand new in the United States. They are not pulled from previously loaded ammunition.

This isn’t loaded ammunition! Please only order these component bullets if you have tools and skills you would need to load your own 9mm ammunition.

Do you prefer a 124 grain JHP load for personal protection – but you don’t want to waste your precious high-tech hollow points on range targets? Berry’s has the solution! These 0.356" diameter bullets have hollow point profiles, so they’ll offer extremely similar ballistic performance to your self-defense projectiles. You just won’t have to pay for the features which enable terminal expansion.

This bullet consists of a swaged lead core, which is totally enveloped by its electroplated copper jacket. That’s great if you don’t want hot propellant gasses to vaporize any lead near your face while you’re honing your aim, and it’ll keep your barrel cleaner as well. Every Barry’s bullet is restruck following the electroplating process to ensure a solid bond and consistent dimensions.

These 0.567” long target HP bullets are compatible with reloading data for both cast and jacketed 124 grain bullets that share a similar profile. Please note that firing these bullets faster than 1,250 fps may cause core/jacket separation!

These are component bullets for handloading. This is not loaded ammunition that you can fire as soon as you open the box.

Berry’s has remained family owned and operated since their foundation by Ray Berry in 1961. Today they’re well regarded among handloaders for the consistency of their component bullets – a reputation they’ve genuinely earned.

This 0.356” diameter 115 grain plated hollow base round nose bullet is ideal for loading 9mm ammunition, but it is just as handy for 38 Super and 357 Sig. The bullet features a swaged lead core and electrochemically bonded copper jacket, which has been struck twice to guarantee its solid bond and uniform dimensions.

Its electrochemically plated copper jacket completely envelops this bullet’s lead core. As the result it avoids producing vaporized lead during ignition to promote a healthier indoor shooting environment. The bullet’s core also remains undeformed, which alongside its balanced weight and standardized dimensions delivers exceptional accuracy.

Berry’s recommends loading this 1.130” OAL bullet to a muzzle velocity no greater than 1,500 fps. They recommend a taper or roll crimp, but warn against over crimping that could cause core separation. Load data for comparable jacketed or cast 115 grain bullets may be used for these bullets as well.

These copper-jacketed rounds are .355 inches in diameter and 124 grains which is a medium weight for the caliber and can be used to create NATO-spec 9x19mm cartridges with the right components and measurements. Customer Reviews

    USE FOR 9/MM ONLY

I've used these 124 grain FMJ bullets for years loading 9/mm rounds. I did want to use them for my 357/Sig but a round nose bullet will never work, a truncated cone nose has to be used. The 357/Sig has an OAL of 1.400". If using this bullet and seating on the bearing surface the OAL will be around 1.325" or about 0.185" over length. If you try to seat this bullet to maximum OAL the bullet will just fall into the 357/Sig case. Because of the round nose there just is not enough bearing surface to correctly seat or grip the bullet. A 147/gr RN may work. I have those also and will have to see if they will work. I have found that for a 357/Sig a 124/gr bullet has to have a truncated cone to work which shortens up the bullet nose and in turn there is more bearing surface to grip the bullet.

This is not loaded ammunition! Please only order these component bullets if you have the equipment necessary to load them (or you want a needlessly expensive doorstop).

Anyone can fire factory-loaded ammunition, but it takes a real scientist to load their own. We sense that you know a thing or two about dies and turrets, which is why we believe you’ll love Berry’s Hybrid Hollow Points!

This projectile possesses a rotationally stable swaged lead core that has been electroplated with copper. Berry’s restrikes each bullet following electroplating to ensure uniform specs and to create the bullet’s nose cavity. The Hybrid HP excels at weight retention, and its terminal ballistics include wide expansion accompanied by 11”-13” penetration when loaded in a 9mm cartridge with a muzzle velocity between 1,050 and 1,150 fps.

This 124 grain projectile has a diameter of 0.356” and overall length of 0.538”. Berry’s advises loading a 9mm cartridge so it is 1.090" in overall length. They further advise using either cast or jacketed data for bullets of the same grain weight and profile as this bullet. You can use either a taper or a roll crimp, but do take care to avoid overcrimping the brass. A round nose seating stem is also advised.

This isn’t loaded ammunition! Please only order these component bullets, which lack cases, powder and primers, if you intend to load your own ammunition.

We’re always happy when we can offer Zero’s component bullets for sale on our site. Our customers have a high opinion of them – and rightly so. The Alabamian manufacturer takes extra care to carefully control their bullets’ weights, diameters, jacket concentricity and core distribution so you can load to spec and appreciate stellar accuracy. Zero’s prices don’t break the bank, either!

This particular bullet’s great for loading America’s favorite 9mm cartridges, but we reckon they’re a great way to make the much rarer 357 SIG or 38 Super as well. In addition to good accuracy, the JHP will deliver the terminal ballistics you’d want when self-defense is your goal. These bullets are great for handcrafting your own target shooting loads, too!

This is not loaded ammunition. You are in for a bad time if you order component bullets and have no idea how to make your own ammo.

Are you of the opinion that a heavier bullet is better for self-defense with a 9mm handgun? That’s a good opinion – one which may save your life one day. Berry’s loaded these 147 grain 9mm projectiles for the same purpose.

This is the Hybrid Hollow Point, which essentially combines the advantages of a total metal jacket and a jacketed hollow point. The bullet’s swaged lead core and electrochemically bonded copper jacket give it excellent in-flight rotational stability. Those same features equip the HHP for deep penetration as well: 11” to 13”, according to the manufacturer. Berry’s appreciates the handloader’s love for standardization, and as such has carefully maintained this 0.610" OAL bullet’s weight and dimensions.

Importantly, Berry’s recommends against a muzzle velocity outside of 975 to 1,075 fps for this bullet. Any faster and its core and jacket can separate to render the nose cavity less effective. A round nose seating stem is also necessary to prevent damage to the nose cavity.

  20. Hornady .355 Diameter Bullets - 115 Grain HAP Bulk - 3000 Count

    Bullet Caliber 9mm

Bullet Type Hornady Action Pistol (HAP)
    Manufacturer Hornady
    Manufacturer SKU 35528B

Hornady Action Pistol (HAP) bullets are a direct response to competitive shooters buying up XTP projectiles for their reloading needs. By comparison to XTPs, the HAP design is less expensive and not designed to expand, but retains the hollow cavity, longer body, and immaculate jacket and lead core quality that match shooters have come to appreciate. That makes these .355 inch diameter bullets a smart choice for custom handloads that will be used in IDPA, USPSA, IPSC, or just practice.

Each projectile weighs in at 115 grains and has a copper-jacketed profile that is appropriate for high-velocity loads. The sleek, slanted ogive feeds excellently while the core and jacket exhibit a high level of uniformity in their dimensions and density. This balance will contribute to more accurate loads once your cartridges are complete. Hornady has been around since 1949 and makes some of the most unique, sought-after projectiles in the United States.

Woah there – this is not loaded ammunition. These component bullets will only do you any good if you plan to make your own handloads.

Zero Bullets of Cullman, Alabama is one of the better component bullet manufacturers we could name. Their exacting quality assurance protocol yields bullets with impressively consistent weights, and their uniform .355" diameters are a given. Why, we’d say these 125 grain JHP projectiles are just the ticket if you intend to take the creation of your own self-defense loads into your own hands, but they’re also priced right for range loads!

Zero’s bullets possess the concentric jackets and form-fitted lead cores they need to remain stable and accurate in flight. These bullets’ centered hollow point nose cavities make them able to quickly mushroom outward as they penetrate soft tissue. We’re sure most of these bullets will get seated in 9mm brass, but they’re also a swell way to load much harder to come by 38 Super and 357 SIG cartridges!

Not for 357 SIG in my experience

Purchased these bullets intending to load 357SIG ammo. I seated the bullets to a COAL of 1.150” yet I couldn’t get a crimp that prevented the bullet from being pushed into the 357SIG case upon chambering. These bullets are fine for 9mm cases.

The Zero Bullet brand, owned by Roze Distribution, represents a line of component projectiles and ammunition which are manufactured in Alabama and well known for consistent quality at an affordable price point. This is not loaded ammunition. These are component bullets for handloading. If you do not load your own ammunition, then this is essentially a nine pound paperweight.

If you are familiar with SIG Sauer 9mm self-defense ammunition, then you may already know about the V-Crown bullet. It is a jacketed hollow point with numerous performance enhancing features, and it is produced for SIG in Sedalia, MO by Sierra Bullets. Now’s your chance to load your own 124 grain V-Crown bullets – even better than SIG can, of course!

This JHP’s nose cavity is heavily engineered. There are multiple fissures formed deep into the lead core, and the surrounding jacket is skived where the fissures meet the rim. These features strategically weaken the V-Crown, so it has an easier time achieving fuller terminal expansion over a wider span of velocities.

The V-Crown’s cannelure is not jacket-deep. It actually embeds the jacket to the core, which supplies the weight retention that factors so heavily into effective terminal ballistics for self-defense.
